Just a heads up on the topic of internet scams. Recently, I had the opportunity to be introduced to one of those little schemes. The product was something I had been searching for several months, always looking for the perfect purchase. This particular item was exactly what I wanted, and the price was too good to be true. (First warning sign) But being the greedy little capitalist I am, always looking for deal, I hooked onto this particular “bait” and contacted the seller. The email exchanges were courteous, and the offer/payment/shipping arrangements seemed legitimate….until….I received the instructions on how to proceed with the payment. No, I didn’t have to put the money in a paper-bag, and secure same bag of loot behind a telephone booth at midnight under a full moon, and though there have been instances in my life where I could easily have had “village idiot” stamped on my forehead, certain key words and phrases in a seemingly legal document from a very well known website caught my eye. The final outcome unfortunately, was my dream item vanished, but… I still had my money. All’s well that ends well, they say.
Point is this. There are thousands of lazy, bottom feeding dregs of society out there, who will work their butts of trying to scam you out of your hard earned money, without remorse, guilt, or morals. What beguiles me is that these BFSB’s* probably work harder trying to scam you out of your paycheck than if they would with a real job. Go figure.
